Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate the MRI unit, calibrate equipment, and acquire high-quality images under supervision, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

You will screen patients, obtain consent when needed, troubleshoot basic equipment, assist radiologists, and participate in ongoing education and QA activities to support geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients.

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of a specialized MRI technology and ARRT registration.
• New grads may obtain ARRT certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates and calibrates the MRI unit for daily operation.
• Screens and prepares patients for MRI examinations.
• Positions patients to obtain satisfactory images and ensures patient safety.
• Verifies informed consent for examinations requiring consent.
• Troubleshoots routine equipment issues and supports radiologists.
• Assists in developing protocols and participates in in-service training.
