Job summary

Brown University Health's MRI Division seeks an MRI Technologist to operate the MRI unit, acquire high-quality images, and record patient data under supervision. You will assist radiologists, troubleshoot routine equipment, and participate in quality control to ensure safe, accurate imaging across adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients.

This role requires ARRT MRI certification, thorough MRI knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of a specialized MRI technology.
• ARRT MRI certification required.
• Ability to interface effectively with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and calibrate the MRI unit for daily operation.
• Position patients for imaging and ensure safety.
• Operate IS software such as MAK, Syngo, PACS, Lifelinks.
• Record patient history from charts and physician referrals.
• QA and prepare images for radiologist interpretation.
• Assist radiologist in developing new procedures and protocols.
• Participate in in-service education and clinical instruction.
