Job summary

The MRI Tech at Mercy Health performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) per established protocols, under Radiologist guidance, ensuring patient safety and image quality. They operate the MRI system, manage coils, gating devices, and contrast administration, and contribute to patient care and documentation.

They also assist in training new staff and supervising MRI students, participate in quality improvement, and maintain equipment and safety standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate's from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred).
• MRI Registry from ARRT or ARMRIT (required).
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by state).
• BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for some locations; preferred at hire).

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned tasks in a time frame appropriate for the situation.
• Operates the MRI system, surface coils, gating devices, and related equipment.
• Ensures patient safety and privacy during procedures and administers contrast when indicated.
• Performs image processing and quality assurance tests per department protocol.
• Participates in training and onboarding of staff and supervision of MRI students.
