Job summary

University of Southern California Keck Hospital seeks a skilled MRI Technologist to perform advanced MRI studies in the department and in the operating room, supporting radiologists and clinicians. The role requires careful patient positioning, safety checks, and collaboration with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality imaging.

Ideal candidates have MRI technology training, ARRT RT certification, and BLS; experience with PACS, and readiness to participate in on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved MRI Technology school/program.
• Pref 1 year experience as MRI technologist.
• Excellent communication skills in English (reading/writing).
• Able to work with physicians, staff and patients.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Fire Life Safety training (LA City) if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly specialized MRI studies in the MRI department and OR.
• Plan and direct activities for patients and procedures.
• Ensure proper positioning and MRI technique per protocols.
• Verify patient identity and orders; review safety instructions.
• Maintain sterile technique and prevent cross contamination.
• Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation and PACS entry.
• Assist with supplies, scheduling, and related duties as needed.
• Participate in after-hours standby and on-call as required.
