Job summary

University of Southern California's Keck Hospital imaging team seeks an MRI Technologist to perform advanced MRI studies and support radiologists in the OR and imaging suites.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, protocol selection, scanner calibration, safety checks, documentation and PACS workflow. Strong English communication, teamwork and BLS certification are required. This union position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved MRI Technology school/program.
• Experience as MRI technologist preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with physicians, staff and patients.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CA DPH).
• Preferred: CRT in California.
• Required: RT (ARRT).

Responsibilities

• Perform highly specialized MRI studies to support radiologists.
• Prepare examinations for interpretation by radiologist.
• Review orders, safety protocols and patient identifications.
• Calibrate imaging systems and ensure image quality.
• Maintain sterile technique and cross-contamination prevention.
• Assist with scheduling, QA/QC and paperwork; PACS scanning.
