Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to join the Imaging Services Team in Los Angeles. The role focuses on performing high-quality MRI studies in both the MRI department and the Operating Room, while maintaining patient safety and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved MRI Technology school/program.
• Prefers 1 year experience as MRI technologist.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to work with physicians, staff, and patients.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification from AHA.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• CRT (CA DPH) certification preferred.
• Registered Technologist - RT (ARRT).

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct activities for patients and procedures in designated area.
• Demonstrate MRI physics knowledge and related computer science concepts.
• Operate imaging equipment and software to perform MRI studies.
• Calibrate imaging systems and perform routine maintenance.
• Position patients for optimal imaging and ensure safety protocols.
• Review orders, verify patient identity, and confirm instructions with radiologist.
• Maintain sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination.
• Complete paperwork and assist in PACS data entry and billing.
• Participate in after-hours standby as required.
• Mentor less experienced staff and collaborate with departments.
