Job summary

AtCapitol Imaging Services is seeking a part-time MRI Technologist in Houston to perform high-quality MRI procedures in outpatient settings, prioritizing patient safety and comfort. You will follow imaging protocols and maintain detailed records.

The role requires ARRT MR certification or eligibility, state licensure if applicable, and BLS. A Monday shift 8:00am-6:00pm with two Saturdays per month, 8:00am-4:00pm, is required.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• ARRT MR certification or eligibility required; active licensure may be required depending on state.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists.
• Verify patient identification, review exam requisitions, and confirm appropriate imaging protocols.
• Prepare and position patients for MRI exams, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Administer contrast agents per physician orders and institutional protocols.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or discomfort during scans.
• Maintain detailed records of procedures and patient information in the PACS/RIS system.
• Follow MRI safety policies, including screening of patients, staff, and visitors for contraindications.
• Inspect equipment for proper function and report any technical issues.
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and healthcare professionals to ensure timely imaging results.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain certification and stay current on imaging tech advancements.

Job Summary:

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures in an outpatient setting, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with established imaging protocols. Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all MRI safety policies, including screening of patients, staff, and visitors for contraindications.
• Regularly inspect equipment for proper function; report any technical issues promptly.
• Collaborate effectively with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate, timely imaging results.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain certification and stay current on imaging technology advancements.

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist or MRI program.
• Current ARRT (MR) certification or eligibility required; ARRT (R) preferred.
• Active state licensure (if applicable).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of MRI experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered.
• Knowledge of MRI safety standards, protocols, and equipment operation required.
