Job summary

Shields Health Care Group seeks an MRI Technologist to join a fast-paced, patient-centric imaging team. You will ensure patient safety, explain procedures, and position patients for optimal imaging quality across multiple locations.

The role requires MRI scanning experience and ARRT/CPR certification, with ARMRIT accepted at some locations. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for interactions with patients and Radiologists.

Qualifications

• MRI scanning experience is required.
• MRI/ARRT/CPR certification is required.
• ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods and assist patients with mobility.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Position the patient accurately and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance with the center’s protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast.
• Complete all forms pertaining to the patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to the Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate and forward to Radiologist.
• Assist clerical staff as needed and keep equipment/rooms clean and stocked.
• Adhere to all training/licensing requirements per credentialing policy.

What you will do

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
• Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
• Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.

What you need

• This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.
• Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills.
• ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
• Assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Some inpatient locations may require employee’s to participate in a call schedule/rotation.
• To push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
• Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation.

Pay range for this position is $40-$60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position. The incumbent will perform work of a lower or equivalent classification as required or directed, and work of higher classification for training and development purposes or as situationally warranted.
