Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI examinations across all ages using 3T, mobile, and upright scanners. The role includes dedicated protocol support, a collaborative team, and patient-centered care in a busy imaging department.

The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus, relocation assistance up to $5,000, and a weekend day shift differential. Work schedule is Fri-Sun, 7:00a–7:30p, at MUSC Downtown Charleston.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• 0 to 2 years of modality-specific work experience; at least 1 year of X-Ray experience preferred.
• Must be registered with ARRT (R); registration required.
• ARMRIT registration required within 1 year if not already registered.
• Current BLS required (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients across all age groups.
• Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
• Utilize MRI resources, protocols, and technology to ensure timely imaging services.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients regarding MRI procedures.
• Adhere to established safety standards and MRI-specific protocols.
• Monitor patients throughout examinations and respond to needs and concerns.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of MRI equipment and work areas.
• Perform additional duties to support departmental operations.
