MRI Technologist – NYC Private Practice (Contract/ CTH)

This is an opportunity for a skilled MRI Technologist to join a premier outpatient imaging organization with a 50-year legacy in New York City. This role is designed for a local professional seeking a long-term career home on the Upper East Side.

Position Overview

• Weekly Pay: $2,237 – $2,612
• Location: Upper East Side, Manhattan
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) on a rotating Monday–Friday basis.
• Setting: Established outpatient private imaging practice.
• Equipment/Systems: GE Equipment; Royal Systems EHR; GE UV PACS.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety & Screening: Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and ensure the removal of all hazardous metal objects prior to activating the magnet.
• Positioning & Imaging: Position patients and apply specific receiver coils (head, knee, etc.) for musculoskeletal, oncologic, and neuroradiology scans.
• Technical Operation: Enter patient history and scan sequences into the computer; adjust transmitters and receivers to ensure high‑quality cross-sectional images.
• Patient Monitoring: Monitor patient safety and comfort from the control room via window and microphone communication.
• Volume: Manage a steady workflow with exams scheduled every 20–40 minutes.

Qualifications

Required:

• Certification: ARRT registered as an MR Technologist (ARRT-MR).
• Licensure: New York State Radiologic Technologist License with Injection authority.
• Life Support: Active BLS certification.
• Experience: 3+ years of MRI experience is required.
