Job summary

Optum NY in Bethpage, NY is seeking a full-time MRI Technologist to join our care delivery team.

You will operate MRI equipment, ensure patient safety, maintain quality control, and collaborate with radiologists and staff to deliver diagnostic imaging.Required qualifications include ARRT, MRI certification, and a high school diploma; preferred candidates have an associate or bachelor’s degree in radiography or related fields and 1+ years MRI experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist).
• MRI certification.
• Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine.
• 1+ years of MRI Technologist experience.
• Proven ability to communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization.
• Proven ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Proven ability to adequately use, or learn to use, the department's computerized system and its associated devices.

Responsibilities

• Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and assure proper file identification.
• Demonstrate competency for operating all MRI equipment and associated software.
• Ensure safety of all those entering the MR room through education and proper screening protocols.
• Maintain communication with radiologists and other physicians, patients and their families, and other persons.
• Perform quality control and reporting tasks, setting up and conducting MRI procedures, maintain day-to-day schedules, assisting radiologist, and contributing to the efficient operation of the department.
