Job summary

Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City is seeking a qualified MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment for diagnostic imaging under supervision. The role requires NYS licensure, ARRT MR certification, and approx. two years of MRI experience.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, performing scans, contrast administration within protocols, maintaining equipment and supplies, and upholding safety and infection control standards. Weekend/evening availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2 years of MRI technologist experience.
• Current NYS license and ARRT MR certification required.
• Ability to perform MRI scans and administer contrast per protocol.
• Schedule may include weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment to assist in diagnosis under general guidance.
• Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment and reagents; may order supplies as authorized.
• Assists with system/equipment use and departmental procedures for staff.
• Performs MRI scans and explains procedures to patients prior to imaging.
• Prepares and administers contrast media per established procedures.
• Ensures patient safety and sterile environment; adheres to infection control standards.

Education

ARRT MR Certification

New York State License in Radiographic Technology (R)

NYS Intravenous Contrast Administration Certification

BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

High School Diploma

Graduate of approved school of radiography
