  • Compensation Range: $31.50 - $40.95

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries will be set within this range based on factors like experience, education, and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  1. Set up and operate MRI equipment, including imaging coils and patient monitoring systems.
  2. Evaluate image quality, troubleshoot scanner issues, and review imaging artifacts.
  3. Review MRI registration and screening forms to ensure safe access into the magnet room.
  4. Assist in training new MRI technologists and students.
  5. Perform all filming, archiving, and data management for each patient scanned.
  6. Retrieve and restore old MRI data as needed.
  7. Master new techniques with scanner upgrades.
  8. Communicate patient information to relevant staff.
  9. Receive training and supervision from senior technologists, and follow departmental policies and procedures.
  10. Scan patients safely and efficiently, complete documentation, and discharge patients with instructions.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify patient service requirements and educate patients/families about procedures.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including positioning and equipment adjustments.
  • Follow provider’s orders to perform procedures.
  • Produce high-quality images and prepare them for interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Perform equipment quality control and troubleshoot as needed.
  • May train new staff or lead daily activities.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Completion of formal training at an accredited School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current NYS licensure as a CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist).
  • ARRT Radiography Certification with CE credits.
