Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking an MRI Technologist to support the integrity of the organization and provide a professional, caring atmosphere in a fast-paced clinical environment.

You will follow all policies, position patients, administer contrast as needed, record data, and forward films to Radiologist. MRI experience and certifications are required; ARMRIT accepted at some locations. Pay range is $40-$60/hr plus benefits.

• MRI scanning experience required.
• MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications required.
• ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies to ensure patient safety during exams.
• Inform patients of exam details to their level of understanding.
• Position patients for comfort and safety.
• Perform scans according to center protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast when indicated.
• Record patient data in the Tech Data Entry system.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate and forward to Radiologist.
• Assist clerical staff as needed and maintain equipment/rooms.
• Adhere to credentialing policies and training requirements.
• May participate in call schedule/rotation.
• Lift and move patients; push/pull/lift up to 25 pounds.

These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol.Administer intravenous contrast.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.Contrast administrationWhat you need:This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills.
