Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures, take call, and schedule exams while stocking procedure rooms. You will act as a resource for Radiology staff and medical staff, ensuring adherence to safety, HIPAA, and department policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Instructs patients regarding MRI procedures; prepares, positions, and manipulates patients for imaging.
• Selects appropriate imaging techniques, calibrates console and peripheral hardware as required.
• Obtains images, produces film records and backups, and transfers for desk to workstation.
• Inspects for quality and completeness of exam.
• Performs quality assurance on MR equipment and laser camera.
• Performs inventories and maintains supplies.
• Provides instruction on MRI procedures and equipment usage to staff/students.

Responsibilities:

• Instructs patients regarding magnetic resonance imaging procedures; prepares, positions, and manipulates patients to ensure appropriate placement for imaging.
• Selects appropriate imaging techniques, calibrates console and peripheral hardware, as required.
• Obtains images, produces film records and backups from desk to storage media, and transfers for desk to work station.
• Inspects for quality and completeness of exam.
• Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and laser camera.
• Performs physical inventories and maintains clinical supplies.
• Provides instruction and guidance in magnetic resonance imaging procedures and equipment/facilities usage to staff and/or students in training.
• Ensures adherence to established PHS/PMG and department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety standards, HIPAA and compliance regulations.
• May assist in research and/or clinical subject scheduling.
• Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED required, associates degree preferred.

Credentials:

• MRT (New Mexico licensure) required.
• R.T. (MR) (ARRT) or ARMRIT (ARMRIT) required.

MRI Registered Technologists:

• MRT (New Mexico licensure) required.
• R.T. (MR) (ARRT) or ARMRIT (ARMRIT) required.

Registered Technologist Trainees/Apprentices:

• PMRT (Provisional NM licensure) required.
• R.T. (R) (ARRT) required.
• Successful completion of ARRT(MR) Boards within two years of hire.
