Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Missouri seeks an MRI Technologist to perform scans, administer contrast, and ensure patient safety. You will prepare patients, explain procedures, and operate MRI equipment across hospital and imaging centers.

The role may rotate to CT/fluoroscopy and requires BLS, RT/MRI certifications, and travel between facilities. Ideal candidates have a Radiologic Technology program completion and at least 1 year of experience, with strong communication and teamwork in a patient‑focused

Qualifications

• Completion of Radiologic Technology program is required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret provider instructions and prepare patients for procedures.
• Explain MRI, fluoroscopy, and diagnostic procedures to patients.
• Select imaging parameters and adjust equipment settings.
• View images and maintain accurate records in the radiology system.

Job Description

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist works under the supervision of leadership. The MRI technologists perform scans using radiofrequencies within a magnetic field to produce images of bones, organs, and soft tissue. They also prepare and administer contrast agents to obtain some images. MRI technologist can work in various clinical environments, such as the hospital or diagnostic imaging centers. MRI Technologists may rotate into other modalities including CT, fluoroscopy, and diagnostic radiology.

Responsibilities

• Interpret a provider's instructions.
• Screen patients for safety prior to entering zone 4.
• Explain MRI, fluoroscopy, and/or diagnostic procedures to patients.
• Prepare patients for procedures.
• Select software options and imaging parameters when adjusting imaging equipment.
• View images from an imaging session and keep records of the results.
• Review and complete patient exam and charges within the radiology information system.
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Completion of Radiologic Technology program. - Required

Work Experience

• 1 Year - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Technologist (R.T.) - Required Upon Hire
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - Required Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required Upon Hire

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required

Essential Technical/Motor Skills

• Inputting data, calibrating equipment, answering telephone, speaking clearly, manipulating small items, fine motor skills, knowledge of body mechanics and CPR. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Interpersonal Skills

• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with patients, staff, visitors, physicians, etc. Must work well as a team member.

• Walking, pushing, pulling, lifting 35 lbs, restraining, standing, kneeling, moving equipment, speaking.

• Manipulating numbers, interpreting data, explaining, assessing appropriateness of exam, adaptability, reading, and organizational skills.

• Visual skills, hearing and speaking.

Exposure to Hazards

• Radiation, body fluids, needle puncture, hazardous materials.

• Caregivers must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in all age groups.
