Job summary

A leading healthcare facility in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an entry-level MRI Technologist. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining quality MRI images, ensuring patient safety, and complying with radiation safety guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a vocational school graduation, and must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment and ARRT certification within one year. Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Obtain quality MRI images of patients.
  • Complies with radiation safety guidelines. Operates MRI equipment safely including screening all patients for contraindications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations.
  • Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner. Observant of patients’ conditions.
  • Prepare MRI scanner and perform quality control tests.
  • Administers contrast media as required.
  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images.
  • Completes and maintains educational requirements.
  • Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
  • Understands and operates electronic information systems.
  • Participates in Department QA as requested. Keeps department neat, orderly and well stocked.
  • Ensures patient safety, to include cleaning the bore of the magnet as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications you will need
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Vocational School Graduate.
  • (ARRT-MR) Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or (ARRT-R) Radiography must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
