Job summary

Orlando Health in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging and related procedures while upholding MRI safety principles.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
  • ARMRIT MRI technologist program graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid ARRT, ARDMS, NMTCB or ARMRIT certification.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Florida licensure as Radiologic Technologist (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic imaging to demonstrate anatomy/physiology for interpretation.
  • Exercises professional judgment and maintains a demeanor aligned with quality care.
  • Delivers patient care while recognizing conditions and ensuring procedure completion.
  • Complies with state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provides instructions for patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs patient identification, collects history, and documents accurately.
  • Positions patient/equipment to obtain high-quality images.
  • Assesses image quality, annotation, and patient identification.
  • Applies MRI safety principles to patients, staff and self.
  • Participates in Quality Control tasks and standards.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast administration with/without power injectors.
  • Performs venipuncture for contrast administration as prescribed.
  • Administers medical aid for adverse reactions to contrast or emergencies.
  • Uses PPE to prevent cross-contamination of infectious diseases.
  • Supervises students and trains new technologists.
  • Utilizes radiology IT systems effectively.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintains regular, punctual attendance per policies.
  • Maintains compliance with policies and education requirements.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
  • May be required to work at any facility.
  • Provides patient transport.

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to MRI safety principles.

Responsibilities
What you will do
  • Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses the patient's physical condition and age specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
  • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Applies principles of MRI safety to patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
  • Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Maintains well-stocked and organized work areas.
  • May be required to work at any facility.
  • Provides patient transport.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology or;
  • Graduate of accredited school of Sonography or;
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine or;
  • Graduate of an approved MRI technologist program through American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • None.
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or;
  • Valid American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or;
  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification or;
  • Valid American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida (Preferred).
