Job summary

City of Hope is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate all MR equipment, ensure high-quality imaging, and collaborate with physicians, patients, and staff. The role may include cross-training in additional modalities and requires ARRT MR certification, CPR, and completion of an AMA-approved radiologic technology program.

A minimum two years in a major hospital setting is preferred. This is an on-site position within a hospital imaging department, with a commitment to compliance, CME, and ongoing

Qualifications

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience preferred.
  • 24 hours of CME every two years.

The successful candidate

The MRI technologist: operates all Magnetic Resonance (MR)-related equipment (i.e. scanner, coils/arrays, power injector, monitoring equipment, etc.); abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values; produces high quality images with a minimum of repeats; handles multiple room assignments and all different types of exams on a daily basis, and communicates effectively with physicians, patients, families, and ancillary hospital personnel. This position may require cross training in additional modalities as directed by the Director of Imaging.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school and is registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, ARRT (R),(MR)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Completes a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education bi-annually and remains “in compliance” with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology’s continuing medical education requirement (CME).
  • Minimum of two years of experience after graduation in a major hospital setting strongly preferred.
