Job summary

IHA is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to operate the MRI scanner and perform a range of anatomical imaging procedures. The role requires high-quality imaging for physician interpretation and the ability to modify protocols based on anatomy or pathology.

You will work with independence and professional judgment in a fast-paced clinical setting. Applicants should have completed an MRI program, hold an ARRT MRI registry, and ideally an associate degree in Radiologic Technology.

Qualifications

  • Must have advanced analytic skills to acquire and use MRI/MRA knowledge.
  • Must understand cross sectional anatomy to obtain high quality images.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the magnetic resonance scanner and perform complex anatomical imaging procedures.
  • Obtain quality images for diagnostic interpretation by the physician.
  • Adjust scanning protocols based on anatomy/pathology; direct exams to conclusion when necessary.

Description

The MRI Technologist will operate the magnetic resonance scanner. He/she will perform a variety of complex anatomical imaging procedures. The MRI technologist will obtain quality images for diagnostic interpretation by the physician. He/she will adjust scanning protocols based on the anatomy/pathology presented during scanning. This individual will be expected to demonstrate an advanced functional knowledge of MRI/MRA and related clinical indicators for procedures to be performed. The MRI technologist will perform and direct exams to the appropriate conclusion in the absence of a physician by utilizing advanced skills in cross sectional anatomy. He/she must be self-motivated, use independent judgement and be able to work with a minimum supervision.

Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Completion of approved MRI program.

Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.

Experience

One to two years MRI Technologist experience is preferred.

License/Certification

Registry by ARRT and advanced registry in MRI within 1 year of hire.

Basic Life Support Certification

Skill

Must have advanced analytical skills necessary to acquire and then effectively utilize the knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance angiography and methods to aide the diagnosis of disease. Must have advanced understanding of cross sectional anatomy in order to obtain the highest quality images possible.
