Job summary

Akumin is hiring an MRI Technologist in Bronx, NY for a full-time role. You will perform MRI procedures, ensure patient safety, and deliver high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining excellent patient communication and comfort.

Qualifications include ARRT/NMTCB/ARDMS registration, CPR, and a high school diploma. Preferred candidates may hold an MRI registry and an associate degree. Benefits include health coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; CPR certification preferred for clinical readiness.
• Registered technologist (ARRT/NMTCB/ARDMS) per state requirements.
• CPR certification for mid-day moves and patient safety readiness.
• Active state driver’s license as part of transport readiness.
• Preferred: Associate degree or ARRT MRI registry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety with pre-screening and aseptic technique.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images with attention to detail.
• Order supplies, clean unit, and assist in daily transport prep.
• Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and team.
• Train new technologists and/or PCs as needed.

We are currently hiring for an MRI Technologist at our Bronx, NY facility. This will be a Full Time position. Our MRI technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Orders supplies, cleans unit, assist in preparing for transport on a daily basis.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC's.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
• Registered Technologists by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS State License, as required.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves CPR certification.
• Active state driver’s license.

Preferred Requirements:

• Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.

Eligibility for benefits will vary based on position type and hours worked.

The estimated hourly pay range for this role in New York is $50.31 - $65.41. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, location, and other factors such as internal equity and budget.
