Job summary

TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI and General Radiology exams with a strong focus on patient care. You will interview patients, review charts, and assist radiologists as needed, ensuring accurate history and safe procedures.

The role requires ARRT with advanced MRI certification (or obtain MRI certification within 12 months) and BLS at hire, along with at least 1 year of relevant post-graduate experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• At least 1 year of post‑graduate related experience.
• Current ARRT registration with advanced MRI certification.
• If not MRI registered, you must obtain MRI certification within 12 months of hire.
• Current BLS Certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI and General Radiology exams with high quality patient care.
• Interview patients and review charts to obtain history; evaluate labs before contrast.
• Assess contraindicators and assist the radiologist as needed.
• Scan patients and perform the correct ordered exam.
• Transport patients and take plain film x-rays as required.
• Participate in PI plan and promote teamwork in the department and hospital.
• Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and treatment of patients.
• Start IVs and maintain appropriate IV access for injection rate.
• Operate Meditech, Synapse, Tele‑Radiology, CD Burner, GE workstation.
• Follow risk mitigation strategies for handling hazardous medications.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The MRI Technologist completes both MRI and General Radiology examinations, ensuring a high level of quality and patient care. This role involves interviewing patients and reviewing charts to obtain a complete history, evaluating patients for contraindicators, and assisting the radiologist as needed. The technologist is also responsible for starting IVs, operating a variety of technical systems, and promoting teamwork within the department.

What you will do in this role

• You will complete MRI and General Radiology examinations while ensuring a high level of quality patient care.
• You will interview patients and review charts to obtain a complete history and evaluate labs before contrast injections.
• You will evaluate patients for contraindicators and assist the radiologist as needed.
• You will scan patients with appropriate equipment and perform the correct ordered exam.
• You will be capable of taking plain film x-rays and transporting patients to and from the department.
• You will participate in the PI plan and promote teamwork within the department and hospital.
• You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and treatment of patients.
• You will be capable of starting IVs and ensuring IV patience with the appropriate gauge for injection rate.
• You will operate Meditech, Synapse, Tele‑Radiology system, CD Burner, Power Injector, and GE workstation.
• You will follow all facility‑endorsed risk mitigation strategies for handling hazardous medications.

What qualifications you will need

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
• At least 1 year of post‑graduate related experience
• Current registration with ARRT with advanced certification in MRI
• If not MRI registered, you will be required to obtain MRI certification within 12 months of hire, or will be released from the position
• Current BLS Certification upon hire
