Job summary

Duly Health and Care in Lombard, IL is seeking a qualified MRI Technologist to perform complex diagnostic MRI procedures under radiologist direction. You will conduct routine MRIs and MRAs, obtain patient histories, start IVs, inject contrast, and maintain a safe imaging environment while liaising with the radiologist.

  • Graduate MRI technologist with demonstrated MR imaging training.

  • BLS CPR certification required; AED experience preferred.

  • Ability to manage IVs and contrast administration per protocol.

  • Rotating shifts Monday–Friday 11:30am–8pm and 9:30am–6pm; 2 weekend days per month 7:30am–4pm

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex diagnostic MRI procedures from inception to completion under radiologist direction
  • Perform routine MRIs and MRAs, take accurate verbal patient histories, start IVs, and administer IV contrast
  • Maintain a positive imaging environment and act as a patient liaison to the radiologist
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas, ensuring proper MRI safety standards and that all ferromagnetic materials are outside the scan room
  • Explain emergency shutdown procedures and demonstrate fire and safety evacuations
  • Verify patient transfer/transport equipment compliance and operate required equipment to produce scans following established guidelines and protocols
  • Complete necessary protocol tasks and perform ordered examinations according to written MRI protocols
  • Identify patients using three unique identifiers, introduce patients with name and role title, explain procedures in layman’s terms, and provide educational aids; allow time for patient questions
  • Verify MRI screening forms, start IV access and inject contrast under physician direction, selecting correct site and amount, recording injection parameters, and generating QA documentation when necessary
  • Prepare and position patients using MRI protocols to achieve the highest quality image
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited MRI education program
  • ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(MR) or ARMRIT Certified Technologist
  • BLS – Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR
  • Minimum of one year MRI imaging experience
  • Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods, frequently bend/stoop, reach overhead, and perform repetitive computer keyboard use
  • Ability to manipulate MRI coils, table, and accessory equipment; reach equipment >6ft; assist in moving patients from stretcher, wheelchair, or bed to the MRI table
  • Adequate eyesight to observe patient condition, read MRI computer screen, and evaluate image quality
  • Good hearing to respond to patient inquiries, communicate with other personnel, initiate timely response to alarms, and multitask
  • Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude under stress
Compensation

Base pay range: $32.65–$49.00 per hour, with additional shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
