Job summary

Duly Health and Care in Illinois seeks an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI procedures from start to finish under radiologist direction. You will obtain patient histories, administer IV contrast when required, and ensure a safe imaging environment.

The role requires ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification, MRI program completion, and at least one year of MRI experience. We offer full-time hours in Lombard/Lisle/Westmont with comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited MRI program.

  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of one year MRI imaging experience.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and assist in transporting patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic MRI procedures from start to finish under radiologist direction.
  • Maintain MRI safety standards and QA checks on equipment.
  • Identify patients and verify exam protocols before imaging.
  • Prepare IV contrast and monitor injections as required.
  • Coordinate with radiology staff and document imaging results.

This would include, but not limited to: performing routine MRIs and MRAs, taking accurate verbal patient histories and starting I.V.s, to administer IV contrast. Maintain a positive imaging environment for our patients and act as a patient liaison to the radiologist.Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areasEnsures proper MRI safety standards are metEnsures that all ferromagnetic materials are located outside of scan roomAble to explain correct emergency shutdown proceduresAble to properly demonstrate fire and safety evacuationsPatient transfer/transport equipment is checked to ensure compliance with safe operational standardsOperates required equipment necessary to produce scans using established guidelines and MRI protocolsCompletes necessary protocolling tasksPerforms ordered examinations according to written MRI protocolsProperly identifies (three unique identifiers).Introduction to patient is performed using name and role title.Procedure is explained in laymen’s terms using educational/informational aids (books,pamphlets, interpreter, etc.) when necessary.Time is allowed for patient feedback and questions, ensuring all questions are addressed prior to exam start.Completion of MRI screening forms is verified and information provided is validated.Starts IV access according to standard procedure and injects media under the direction of a physician.Appropriate IV site is selected according to exam protocol.Proper catheter or needle is selected and venipuncture is introduced following established standard precaution guidelinesCorrect IV contrast is selected and correct amount for administration is prepared according to established protocolsAppropriate injection parameters are selected and injection is monitored according to established guidelines.Injection amount, IV location and flow rate is recorded on correct documents and appropriateQA documentation (QR reports) is generated when infiltration or reaction occurs.Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established MRI protocols to achieve the highest quality image.Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited education program in MRI required.ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(MR) or ARMRIT Certified Technologist required.BLS – Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR required.Minimum of one year MRI imaging experienceJob requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive)Repetitive motion: computer keyboard.Attention to detail and ability to write legiblyManipulate MRI coils/table and accessory equipmentReach equipment at heights greater than 6 feetAssist in moving patient from stretcher, wheelchair, or bed to and from MRI tableAdequate eyesight to: Observe the patient’s condition, Read MRI computer screen/imaging equipment Evaluate MRI images for appropriate image qualitySufficient hearing to: Respond to patient’s verbal inquiriesCommunicate with other personnel involved in the care of the patientInitiate timely response to audible alarms and signalsAbility to perform multi tasks simultaneouslyAbility to maintain self composure and a positive attitude under stress.The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $35.00-$52.00, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
