Job summary

Akumin Elite Radiology seeks a Chief Technologist to lead imaging teams across Elite Radiology facilities. The role involves performing diagnostic scans when needed, scheduling staff, and managing performance reviews. You will coordinate with operations, sales, and customers to ensure high-quality imaging services.

Requirements include radiology education (associates/certificate), CPR, state licenses, and ARRT/ARMRIT where applicable. Expect travel 25% locally and a sign-on bonus of $5,000.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or certificate in Radiology required; Bachelor's preferred.
• 3 years of scanning experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as scanning technologist and provide direct patient imaging services; maintain competencies to cover scanning roles.
• Create and distribute Team Member schedules; approve timecards; hire and conduct performance reviews.
• Act as primary customer contact for escalations; liaise between customers, operations, and sales; support audits and accreditation.

We are currently hiring for a Chief Technologist at our Elite Radiology facilities. This will be a full time position.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Serve as a scanning technologist and provide direct patient imaging services, including performing diagnostic scans, when staffing shortages, coverage needs, or operational demands require. The Chief Technologist is expected to maintain the clinical competencies necessary to step into the scanning role and ensure continuity of patient care.


• Creates and distributes Team Member schedules. Approves timecards (typically for up to 40 Team Member timecards). Hires, manages performance, develops Team Members, and conducts and completes New Hire and Annual Clinical Assessments and performance reviews.


• Acts as customer point of contact for primary escalations. Liaisons between customers, operations leadership and sales. Supports unit audits, ACR accreditation activities, and Joint Commission preparedness. Works with team and customer on protocol development and review.


• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Associate's degree and Certificate from College or Technical School in Radiology Program or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.


• 3 years of scanning experience preferred.


• CPR Certification.


• State licensed in the modalities supported, if applicable.


• Valid state drivers license, as applicable.


• Technologists providing MRI services


• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.


• Scanning experience in MRI


• Technologists providing CT services


• ARRT(CT)


• Scanning experience in CT


• Technologist providing PET services


• ARRT(N) or NMTCB


• Scanning experience in PET


• Technologists providing PET and Diagnostic CT services


• ARRT(N) or NMTCB and ARRT(CT)


• Technologists providing Ultrasound services


• ARDMS certification or ARRT(S)


• Scanning experience in ultrasound


• Technologists providing Mammography service


• ARRT(M)


• Scanning experience in Mammography


• Ability to work at several locations.


• Strong customer service skills.


• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.


• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.


• Job may require 25% of local travel.
