Memorial Medical Center Las Cruces is hiring an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, educate patients, and perform imaging procedures for accurate diagnoses. The role includes contrast administration within scope and continuous patient monitoring.

• Experience with magnetic resonance imaging and contrast administration within scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanner to acquire diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• Educate patients about procedures, equipment and exam to ensure cooperation.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes as needed.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
• Set exposure factors, position patient, perform imaging, and ensure image quality.
• Analyze results and address image quality issues, retrying procedures when needed.
• Enter, transmit and report scan results.

How You'll Contribute

An MRI Technologist who excels in this role operates magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. Additional responsibilies include:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results

What We're Looking For

Applicants should be graduates of an ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine. Additional requirements include:

• License/Certification:
  • ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB registry in Radiology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine Registry required. ARRT Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) required (within 1 year of hire/transfer)
  • If not ARRT(MR), then you must work under the supervision of an ARRT(MR) technologist until your ARRT(MR) is obtained.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
