Job summary

Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an MRI Technologist for a full-time, on-site role in outpatient imaging. You will review orders, educate patients, and perform MRI scans with attention to safety and image quality.

The ideal candidate holds an associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences and ARRT/ARMRIT certification with NM state licensure, plus BLS on hire. Growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits are available.

• Associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences.
• ARRT/ARMRIT MRI certification and NM state MRI Technologist license required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders; educate patient on procedures, equipment, and exam.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes as needed.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
• Set exposure factors and imaging parameters; position patient and perform imaging; analyze results for quality.
• Resolve image quality issues through repositioning or repeating procedures.
• Enter, transmit and report scan results.

How you'll contribute

An MRI Technologist who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences. Additional requirements include:

• License/Certification:
  • Must be registered as an MRI Technologist by the ARRT or ARMRIT and licensed by the state of New Mexico as an MRI Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
