Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL seeks an MRI Technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders. The role collaborates with radiology leadership to deliver high-quality imaging while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, and requires ARRT(R) certification or eligibility, BLS, and completion of an appropriate program. Strong critical thinking and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiology preferred or eligible.
• Two years of education: certificate, associate, or bachelor degree.
• BLS required.

Position Summary:

The MRI Technologist is a non-exempt position that reports to both the Director of Radiology and the Department Supervisor. The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures in accordance with professional standards and physician orders. This role requires strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in high-pressure environments. Responsibilities include patient education, contrast media administration, monitoring patient condition, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring high-quality imaging results. Must be capable of responding to changes in patient status and resolving image quality concerns efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of education: Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree
• Graduate of Program in Discipline, required or validated by current licensure
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiology, MRI board certification preferred
• (BLS) Basic Life Support required
