Job Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and explain procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
• Assist physicians with examinations following department protocols and safety precautions.
• Apply knowledge of IVs, heparin locks, and central lines relevant to MRI procedures.
• Ensure patient safety by using side rails, monitoring, and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Perform routine maintenance of imaging equipment to ensure quality images.

Additional Requirements

• Work Schedule: PRN
• Education: Graduate of an accredited radiography or nuclear medicine program with MRI training; MRI Registry eligible through ARRT.
• Licenses: ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT; CNMT certification accepted; MRI certification within 12 months of hire.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.
• Experience: Prior hospital or healthcare environment experience preferred; recent students at Inova Health System are also considered.
