The position offers a casual, 0.0 FTE schedule with 8/12 combo shifts and occasional weekends; ARRT certification is required and BLS may be needed per policy. Competitive pay ranges apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology; vocational/technical training.
• 0–2 years MRI experience.
• ARRT registration required; ARRT MRI certification preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures under radiologist guidance.
• Document procedure details accurately.
• Verify imaging transferred to storage/RIS.
• Maintain safe patient environment and effective communication with patients.
• Assist with clerical tasks using Excellian and PACS systems.
• Collaborate with supervisor and team; raise issues as needed.

Job Description: Performs and assists with procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanning under the direction of the radiologist, providing timely and quality services to patients. Follows Imaging Department policies to maintain a safe, efficient and economical environment. Interacts with patients to welcome, explain and respond to questions and concerns during and following the procedure.

Principle Responsibilities

• Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines
  • Identifies patient with two identifiers.
  • Documents accurately all needed aspects of the procedure.
  • Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs.
  • Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area.
• Performs procedures with high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintains work knowledge and competence.
  • Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images.
  • Verifies all imaging has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system.
• Provides accurate clerical function
  • Uses Excellian (electronic medical record).
  • Understands the Enterprise Medical Imaging/Picture Archiving and Communication System.
  • Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure.
• Communicate with Supervisor and team
  • Reporting problems, issues or ideas.
  • Provides assistance, ideas and information to support the work of others.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Training Graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• 0 to 2 years of MRI experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of MRI experience

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
• MRI certification with ARRT preferred upon hire
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
  • Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Physical Demands

• Medium Work*:
• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $40.84 to $56.28 per hour. The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
