Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Appomattox Imaging seeks an MRI Technologist to obtain high-quality images while adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining patient comfort. The role includes scanner preparation, contrast administration, and QA tasks to ensure accurate results.

The candidate must have an accredited radiology program, one year of experience, and ARRT MR/R registration with BCLS. The facility emphasizes safety, education, and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Ultrasonography.
• One year experience as a Radiology Technologist.
• ARRT (R) Registered preferred.
• ARRT (MR) Registered required.
• Must obtain within 6 months of hire/start in position.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quality MRI images of patients.
• Complies with radiation safety guidelines and operates MRI equipment safely.
• Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
• Prepare MRI scanner and perform quality control tests.
• Administers contrast media as required.
• Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on images.
• Understands and operates electronic information systems.
• Keep department neat, stocked, and safe for patients.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Obtain quality MRI images of patients.
• Complies with radiation safety guidelines. Operates MRI equipment safety including screening all patients for contraindications.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations.
• Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner. Observant of patients’ conditions.
• Prepare MRI scanner and perform quality control tests.
• Administers contrast media as required.
• Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images.
• Completes and maintains educational requirements.
• Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
• Understands and operates electronic information systems.
• Participates in Department QA as requested. Keeps department neat, orderly and well stocked.
• Ensures patient safety, to include cleaning the bore of the magnet as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Ultrasonography.
