Job description

We Are Hiring

• Department: Magnetic Resonance Imaging
• Schedule: Full-time Days, Thursday - Saturday, 6:45am - 7:15pm
• Hospital: Dell Children's Medical Center
• Location: Austin, Texas

What You Will Do

Operate a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat pathologies.

• Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
• Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
• Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develop film in an automatic processor.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history).
• Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage, and other areas.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from NMTCB obtained prior to hire or transfer.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in MRI credentialed from ARRT obtained prior to hire or transfer. Other accepted credentials include Radiography (R), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), Sonography (S), or Vascular Sonography (VS).
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from ARDMS obtained prior to hire or transfer.
  • Technologist specializing in MRI credentialed from ARMRIT obtained prior to hire or transfer.
• Radiologic Technologist in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program is preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience OR an Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable experience.
