Job summary

Montclair Breast Center is seeking an MRI Technician to provide clear diagnostic images by following physician instructions and explaining procedures to patients. The role involves selecting imaging parameters, positioning patients, and maintaining accurate imaging records.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's degree in MRI or radiology, ARRT certification, and a State license, with experience in patient care and MRI equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in MRI or radiology with ARRT certification.
• Current state license to practice MRI.
• IV certification and certification to work as MRI technician.
• Experience with MRI equipment and patient care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Explain the MRI process to patients and ensure safety standards are followed.
• Position and prepare patients, including sedation if needed, to obtain clear images.
• Prepare and handle IVs and catheters as required for MRI procedures.
• Operate and adjust MRI hardware and software to optimize imaging.
• Monitor patients during scanning and maintain accurate patient records.
• Ensure MRI equipment functions properly and perform QA routines.

Job description

Job Summary

MRI technician to be responsible for providing clear images to Physicians through MRI scanning. The MRI technician's responsibilities include following Physicians' instructions, explaining the MRI procedure to patients, selecting software options and imaging parameters on the MRI machine, viewing images from the imaging session, and keeping records of reports.

To be a successful MRI technician, you should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be sensitive to the needs of the patients. You should show attention to detail, and be able to work in a team.

MRI Technician Responsibilities

• Explaining the MRI process to patients and ensuring the patients comply with all safety standards.
• Positioning, and possibly sedating, patients to capture clear images of the correct area of the body.
• Removing and then replacing IVs and catheters for the MRI process.
• Maneuvering the MRI equipment and positioning it to capture the correct images.
• Monitoring patients during scanning and maintaining patients' records.
• Monitoring MRI equipment functions.
• Ensuring clear images for Physicians to provide accurate diagnoses.
• Recognizing abnormalities and irregularities in images.
• Quality Assurance- daily, weekly, monthly test.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• An Associate's degree in MRI or radiology technology/ MRI certified/ IV certified
• Experience with MRI equipment and patient care would be a plus.
• A license and certification to work as an MRI technician.

• Current State License and ARRT registry
