Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network seeks an MRI Technician to perform high-quality diagnostic MRI exams in a collaborative, academic medical setting. Responsibilities include patient preparation and screening, safe operation of MRI scanners, accurate positioning, and adherence to MRI safety and infection-control standards.

The technologist will work closely with radiologists, nurses, and referring providers, use evidence-based protocols, document in the EMR, support teaching and process

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification in radiography and/or MRI is required.
  • State licensure as MRI technologist as applicable.
  • BLS certification required.
  • IV contrast administration competency.
  • Advanced MRI safety training is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and optimize MRI examinations following established protocols
  • Prepare, screen, and position patients ensuring comfort and safety
  • Operate MRI equipment and monitor scans for image quality
  • Adhere to MRI safety, contrast, and infection-control standards
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and providers on imaging needs
  • Document procedures and findings in the EMR
  • Educate and support patients through the imaging process
  • Participate in quality improvement, teaching, and training activities
