Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking an MRI Technologist to support imaging services across age groups in a dynamic radiology team. You will perform diagnostic MR exams, position patients, adhere to protocols, and participate in quality control under the Radiologist's supervision.

Experience is not required, though 6 months as an MRI Technologist is preferred; AMA/JRCERT credentialing and BCLS are required on hire.

Qualifications

• Education must be an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 6 months as an MRI Technologist preferred.
• Licenses: ARDMS or ARRT Radiographer Registered; BCLS required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing MRI procedures on patients of all ages.
• Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in non-scanner related components.
• Follows established imaging protocols for each exam.
• Performs quality control procedures per ACR guidelines.
• Provides age-specific care and patient education per prescribed standards.

Responsibilities

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
