Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI examinations across age groups, under the supervision of a Radiologist. You will position patients, select protocols, and ensure image quality and safety.

The role requires completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited training, ARDMS/ARRT registration upon hire, and BCLS. Prior MRI experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program is required.
• No experience required; 6 months MRI experience preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT radiography registration required upon hire; BCLS required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in performing MRI procedures on patients of all ages; positions patient and selects correct protocol.
• Maintains competencies in non-scanner components and follows imaging protocols.
• Performs quality control procedures per ACR guidelines.
• Provides age-appropriate patient care and education.
• Ensures safe operation of imaging equipment and adherence to prescribed standards.
• Collaborates with Radiologist for accurate diagnosis.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

What you will do

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all MRI procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
