Job summary

Akumin is seeking an MRI Technologist for our Los Alamitos facility in California. This PRN role focuses on patient safety and high-quality MR studies, with on-site and remote work as needed.

You will collaborate with Radiologists and team members, and you may train technologists and assistants as required. Qualified candidates are ARRT/NMTCB/ARMRIT registered MR technologists, with appropriate state licensure and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• MR technologist registration with ARRT/NMTCB/ARMDST is required or MR registry via ARRT/ARMRIT as allowed by contract.
• 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or >6 months in accredited MRI training program.
• State license as Radiologic Technologist or MR Technologist where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety, pre-screening and aseptic technique as needed.
• Produce high quality diagnostic MR images on site and/or remote oversight.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, team members and patients; train new staff when required.
• Handle on-site and mobile environment duties and complete other assigned tasks.

This will be a PRN position.As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies, on site and/ or remote. Ensures effective communication with Radiologist, team members, patients, and customers for those who work in the mobile environment. When required, trains, and orients new technologists, Patient Coordinators and/or MR Technologist Assistants.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique and may require remote MR Technologists Assistant oversite.Produces high quality diagnostic images. Operation of multiple MR systems may be required.Demonstrates the ability to use all channels of communications to address concerns, solve problems, and address conflict.Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.Trains and orients new technologists, patient coordinators and MR Technologist Assistants, on site and/or remote.Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent experienceRegistered Technologist by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARMDSTechnologists with MR Technologist Assistant oversight must be MR registered.
