Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking an MRI Tech for PRN coverage. The role supports physicians with diagnostic MRI examinations and patient care across age groups, under radiologist supervision.

Responsibilities include positioning patients, selecting correct protocols, following imaging standards, and performing quality control. ARDMS/ARRT registration and BCLS are required; prior MRI experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program is required.
• No experience required; 6 months MRI experience preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT registration (Radiographer) required; BCLS required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in performing MRI procedures on patients of all ages and positions patients correctly.
• Follows established imaging protocols and protocols for each exam.
• Performs quality control procedures per ACR guidelines.
• Provides age-appropriate patient education and communication.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and positions patients for radiologic exams.

8:00 am - 4:30 pm with rotational call every 5th weekend.

Responsibilities:

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all MRI procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
