Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist for evening shifts. You will perform diagnostic MRI examinations and provide patient care across all ages under radiologist supervision.

Responsibilities include positioning patients, selecting protocols, following imaging procedures, and maintaining QC in line with ACR guidelines. ARDMS or ARRT registration and BLS are required. No prior MRI experience is required, with 6 months preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
  • No experience required; 6 months MRI experience preferred.
  • Licenses: ARDMS or ARRT in Radiography and BLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competence in performing MRI procedures on patients of all ages and positions patients and selects protocols.
  • Maintains competencies in non-scanner related components.
  • Follows established imaging protocols for exams.
  • Performs quality control procedures per ACR guidelines.
  • Provides age-appropriate patient education and communication.
  • Positioning and protocol selection for radiological exams for all age groups when requested.

Responsibilities:

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

  • Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all MRI procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
  • Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
  • Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
  • Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
  • Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
  • Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
  • Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.

Work Experience

  • No experience required
  • 6 months as an MRI Technologist Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (R) Required
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Required
