Job summary

OSS Health is hiring an MRI technologist to perform diagnostic examinations and assist in department functions. The role prepares patients for radiologic exams and adheres to MRI safety standards.

Eligible for a sign-on bonus, with a Monday–Friday 40-hour schedule and varied shifts from early morning to evening. Responsibilities include patient history reviews, image evaluation, equipment maintenance, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Current MRI certification from ARRT required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and plan and organize work.
  • Must have professional and effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Venipuncture certification preferred.
  • Previous experience preferred, with at least two years strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Takes thorough and accurate patient histories and updates visits.
  • Follows MRI safety measures and contrast imaging guidelines.
  • Correlates patient identification with the examination.
  • Reviews and evaluates images for diagnostic quality.
  • Maintains MRI equipment including coils.
  • Explains procedures and ensures patient safety and comfort.
  • Inputs scan sequences and adjusts equipment for optimal imaging.
  • Records and maintains patient data and treatment records.
  • Assists with lifting and positioning patients.
  • Reports unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Pursues continuing education and development.
  • Maintains a courteous attitude with patients and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The MRI technologist performs diagnostic examinations and assists in other department related functions. Prepares patients for radiologic examinations. Protects themselves, patients, and co-workers by conforming to MRI safety regulations set forth by the American College of Radiology and Cleveland Clinic.

Position is eligible for a sign-on bonus!

SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday (40 hours per week) Varied shifts from 6:00am to 7:00pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Takes thorough and accurate patient medical histories or reviews and updates current visits available.
  • Strictly follows the American College of Radiology and Cleveland Clinic guidelines for contrast imaging. Strictly follows MRI safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
  • Accurately correlates patients’ identification and clinical history with the examination being performed.
  • Reviews and evaluates images to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Safeguards and maintains all MRI equipment including coils.
  • Explains procedures and observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
  • Keys commands and data into computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjusts transmitters and receivers for optimal imaging.
  • Records, processes and maintains patient data and treatment records.
  • Assists with lifting and positioning patient.
  • Reports unusual occurrences to the supervisor.
  • Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs.
  • Displays a pleasant, cooperative attitude and working relationship with all patients and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current MRI certification from ARRT required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and plan and organize work.
