RadNet in Canada is seeking an In Suite Assistant 1 to support MRI safety and patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will assist MRI staff, help with coil setup, patient screening, and maintain a clean, safe MRI suite while upholding confidentiality and professional conduct.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and at least one year of medical setting experience. Lifting patients and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of MR Technologist Assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
• BLS Certification required; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to lift patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist MRI Steering Technologist and radiologists to ensure MRI safety.
• Convey patient history to MRI team for accurate safety screening.
• Set up coils, schedule maintenance, and clean the MRI suite.
• Safeguard patient property and PHI on site.
• Safeguard medications per policies and legal requirements.
• Maintain professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Respect patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities.
• Interact diplomatically with patients and families in a clinical setting.

You Will

• Provide assistance to MRI Steering Technologist, Radiologists and/or administrative staff to provide optimal MRI safety and patient care.
• Convey patient history to the MRI Technologist for accurate MRI safety, assist MRI Technologists to ensure MRI safety, coil positioning, patient screening and/or history and patient observation during exams.
• Support technologists with procedures as needed; which includes the set-up of coils, schedule maintenance, and/or clean-up of MRI suite
• Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
• Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
• Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
• Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.

Role

To Ensure Success in This Role, You Must Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• At least one year experience in medical setting
• Completion of approved MR Technologist Assistant program, including hands-on clinical training
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, public relations and verbal and written communication
• Must be able to assist in lifting patients onto table

Pay Range

$24.00 – $25.00 per hour
