Bell Hospital is seeking an MRI Team Lead for the evening shift (1pm–9:30pm).

You will supervise MRI department operations, ensure safety, and lead a team of technologists while coordinating with physicians and other departments to maintain high-quality patient care. The role requires MRI experience and ARRT MR certification with strong leadership potential.

Qualifications

  • Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology.
  • 1–3 years MRI experience.
  • 3+ years of proven technical competence with leadership accountability in a mid to large hospital.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree related to technical or managerial performance requirements.
  • Experience in an academic healthcare setting is a plus.
  • ARRT MR certification and BLS (or BCLS) required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee MRI Department daily operations and personnel scheduling.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed to meet patient care needs.
  • Ensure MRI safety operations across all areas of the health system.
  • Support staff development and contribute to new procedures and leadership opportunities.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, schedulers, anesthesia, and cardiology.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate service with vendors.
  • Uphold department policies and participate in policy reviews.

Position Summary / Career Interest:

Shift: Evenings - Mon. - Fri. - 1pm - 9:30pm

The MRI Team Lead is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the MRI Department. This includes the oversight of all technical, operational, and personnel related aspects of patient care, and overseeing MRI safety operations for all MRI areas within the Health System. The MRI Team Lead also provides patient care consistent with the responsibilities of the MRI technologist role.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Assists the supervisor and leadership with oversight of MRI personnel and daily operations, including patient and staff schedules, equipment issues/maintenance, etc.
  • Performs direct patient care as required to meet patient care needs.
  • Competent in all MRI procedures
  • Assists staff with personal growth and improvement and provides opportunities for engagement in new procedures, leadership, or personal development
  • Ensures efficiency, organization, and safety of daily operations and equipment use
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, committees, and/or meetings with leadership
  • Reports organizational, personnel, and/or equipment issues to leadership
  • Possesses a high-level knowledge of all departmental policies and procedures and participates in review/updates of policies relating to MRI safety
  • Effectively and professionally interacts and collaborates with various departments to coordinate patient care, including physicians, nurses, schedulers, anesthesia, and cardiology
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems and coordinates service repairs with vendors when needed
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology
  • 1 or more years to 3 years experience in MRI
  • 3 or more years of proven technical competence and expanding leadership accountability in a mid to large size hospital with credible volumes.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree related to technical or managerial performance requirements
  • Experience in an academic healthcare setting
Required Licensure and Certification
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license, Kansas Class C or equivalent. MVR results must be in compliance with Health System Safe Driving Program Policy. Candidate must be able to present or obtain DOT medical clearance through approved provider.
Preferred Licensure and Certification
  • Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) - American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety(ABMRS)
  • Licensed by the State of Kansas or Missouri
