Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking a Senior MRI Technologist to lead interventional and surgical MRI imaging within the operating room environment. This full-time role emphasizes high-quality imaging support for diverse OR cases while mentoring staff and students to uphold safety standards.

The position offers day shift hours with no on-call requirements, starting on a training schedule before transitioning to a rotating three-day workweek.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with MRI and/or OR settings preferred.
• Certification as R.T.(R) and/or MR; ARMRIT or ARRT preferred.
• Licenses such as IEMA, RT, CT, MR or equivalent may be required.

• Prepare patients and equipment for procedures.
• Perform MRI studies independently, including portable exams and on-call situations.
• Ensure compliance with ACR/JC regulations and QA programs.
• Lead safety and quality improvement initiatives; enhance patient experience and staff engagement.

Job description

This is a full-time position for a Senior MRI Technologist specializing in Operating Room procedures, primarily performing interventional and surgical MRI imaging to support a variety of OR cases. The role involves working in a Surgical environment with Siemens MRI machines, providing critical imaging support, and mentoring new staff and students. It offers day shift hours with no call requirements, initially on a training schedule before transitioning to a rotating three-day workweek.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing patients and equipment for procedures.
• Performing studies independently, including portable exams and on-call situations.
• Ensuring departmental regulatory compliance (ACR, JC) and maintaining quality assurance programs.
• Leading safety and quality improvement initiatives, enhancing patient experience and staff engagement.
• Mentoring new employees and students under supervision.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Associate degree or higher in a related field.
• Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography (R.T.(R)) and/or MR, with at least 2 years of experience; ARMRIT or ARRT certification preferred.
• Experience in MRI and/or OR settings highly desirable.
• Licenses such as IEMA (Illinois only), RT, CT, MR, among others.
• Preferred: 5-10 years of experience, CPR and IV therapy certifications.
• Performs all responsibilities of an advanced modality technologist and may act as lead in their absence.
• Contributes to department initiatives, quality assurance, safety, and mentorship.
• Safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and adherence to safety protocols.
