Job summary

UMC Health System in Lubbock, TX seeks a Radiology Technician specialized in MRI to participate in daily CT/MRI department operations and imaging quality control. You will perform exams under the Radiologist and may assist with non-technical duties as needed.

The role requires ARRT and TDH-MRT eligibility, BLS certification, and the ability to work on-call with rotating shifts. Knowledge of PACS and safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology.
• ARRT Registration within 12 months of hire.
• BLS Basic Life Skills certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT/MRI procedures and Quality Control tests per procedure manual.
• Adjust contrast/density in PACS; merge studies as required; adjust scanning methods for age-specific exams.
• Process images (bone/soft tissue windows, reconstructions, 3D) after exams.
• Charge exams according to CPT definitions; review lab results and correct charges when needed.
• Proficiently start IVs and inject contrast media as needed.
• Educate patients regarding exams, expectations, and timeframes.
