Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an experienced MRI Section Manager to direct clinical and operational activities within the Magnetic Resonance Imaging area at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with department policies and accreditation standards.

The role emphasizes education, training, and collaboration with clinical and administrative leadership to maintain high-quality diagnostic imaging services and patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited radiology training program with ARRT or ARMRIT registration.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge to provide quality patient care across aging and cultural contexts.
• Analytical and critical thinking to plan and direct Section operations.

Responsibilities

• Provides input in the planning and development of goals for the department.
• Actively participates in developing and supporting policies and procedures for the department.
• Advises and assists as needed on overall department policy development.
• Interviews and makes decisions regarding new hires in a manner that supports guidelines established by RIH Human Resources and the Diagnostic Imaging Director.
• Works with newly hired personnel to train, orient and assign work to fit the new employee’s needs.
• Evaluates new personnel during the probationary period and determines the individual’s skill levels and potential for permanent employment.
• Develops annual operating budget for the Section.
• Evaluates the day-to-day operational dynamics of the Section with respect to efficiency of staff and quality of services.
