Job summary

Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons, LLC is seeking an MRI Operations Supervisor to oversee daily MRI center operations across two facilities. You will manage staffing, schedules, and onboarding while upholding standards for quality, safety, and service excellence.

The role collaborates with the MRI Director on recruitment, communicates scheduling and billing updates, and identifies efficiency improvements to enhance patient access and workflow. A healthcare management background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of customer service experience
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience
• Healthcare management and billing knowledge preferred
• Billing/Coding coursework preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily MRI operations and workflow across two facilities to ensure efficient use of resources and consistent service delivery
• Manages staffing assignments, schedules and coverage to meet operational demands
• Develops and maintains standards, policies, and procedures for quality, safety, efficiency, and service goals
• Supervises and coaches MRI Center staff to promote accountability and professional growth
• Collaborates with the MRI Director on recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new employees
• Communicates operational updates including clinic schedules, billing, precertification, and MRI scheduling needs
• Assesses staffing needs with the MRI Director and supports scheduling procedures and staff training
• Oversees quality assurance and quality control for imaging quality and patient safety
• Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency and patient access and implements improvements
• Coordinates training and onboarding of new staff and ongoing competency support
• Assists with inventory management, supply ordering, and resource utilization
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job description

• Oversees daily operations and workflow across both MRI facilities to ensure efficient utilization of resources and consistent service delivery.
• Manages staffing assignments, schedules, and coverage to maintain appropriate staffing levels and meet operational demands.
• Develops, implements, and maintains standards, policies, processes, and procedures that support quality, safety, efficiency, and service goals.
• Supervises, coaches, and develops MRI Center staff to promote accountability, professional growth, teamwork, and exceptional patient service.
• Collaborates with the MRI Director in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new employees.
• Ensures timely and accurate communication of operational updates, including physician and provider clinic schedule changes, organizational updates, billing and precertification requirements, and MRI scheduling needs.
• Partners with the MRI Director to assess staffing needs, evaluate operational data, and support the development and improvement of scheduling procedures, workflows, and staff training.
• Oversees quality assurance and quality control activities to support consistent imaging quality, patient safety, and compliance with applicable standards and organizational policies.
• Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency, patient access, service delivery, and departmental performance; recommends and implements approved process improvements.
• Coordinates the training and onboarding of new employees and provides ongoing training and competency support for existing staff as needed.
• Assists with inventory management, supply ordering, and resource utilization to support uninterrupted MRI Center operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Billing/Coding and Healthcare Management coursework preferred. A minimum of five years of customer service experience. 1-3 years of supervisory experience. Healthcare management and billing experience highly preferred. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
