Qualifications

Schedule Details/Additional Information:

M-F 0530-1400, On call and holiday rotations.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a resource to employees and students, including training, orienting, providing work direction, and giving performance feedback. Assigns, monitors, reviews work progress, and manages staffing levels, guiding on complex issues.
  • Assists with HR responsibilities such as interviewing, staff development, performance feedback, resolving employee concerns, and boosting morale.
  • Helps interpret department policies, updates staff on procedural changes, identifies performance improvement opportunities, manages inventory, labor productivity, and departmental resources.
  • Serves as a technical resource and role model for students and staff. Facilitates clinical problem solving and collaborates across departments to educate on patient management and imaging procedures.
  • Proficiently operates MRI equipment for basic to advanced diagnostic procedures, including angiography, thoracic, abdomen, venous, cardiac, functional MRI, interventional, breast MRI, fetal MRI, and spectroscopy.
  • Obtains patient medical history, verifies requisitions, administers contrast media under radiologist supervision, positions patients, adjusts scanning factors, and ensures safety.
  • Post-processes and labels images accurately, maintains records per regulatory standards, and documents billing procedures.
  • Monitors equipment performance, performs quality assurance tests, reports malfunctions, and evaluates new products and equipment.
  • Performs patient positioning and transport duties, requiring physical effort and proper technique.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • Registered Technologist (RT) or MRI registration by ARRT.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by AHA, obtained within 6 months.

Education Required:
  • Advanced training beyond High School, completed an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Experience Required:
  • Typically 5 years in Imaging as an MRI Technologist.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of anatomy and MRI safety.
  • Proficient in IV and venipuncture if required.
  • Knowledge of accreditation policies and procedures.
  • Leadership skills including delegation, team building, and managing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use computers at an intermediate level.
  • Maintain annual educational requirements for certifications.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, reach above shoulders frequently.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs., carry up to 40 lbs., push/pull with 30 lbs. force.
  • Perform transfers with assistance, exposure to hazards, and use PPE as necessary.
  • Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing, and operate necessary equipment.

Pay Range

$40.30 - $60.45
