Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides supervision of staff and area functions as well as serves as a physician liaison.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately for diagnostic radiographic imaging per established protocols. Prepares for and assists physicians during procedures. Prepares contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. (45%)
  2. Acts as a mentor for new staff, using technical expertise to improve performance. Assists in managing human resources, staff/equipment scheduling, payroll, and non-labor expenses for the department. Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulatory standards. Implements and educates staff on imaging policies, procedures, and quality initiatives. (30%)
  3. Ensures completion of documentation for quality control, equipment maintenance, regulatory compliance, billing, and image distribution. Maintains ACR certification and registries if applicable. (15%)
  4. Implements radiation and patient safety standards, and develops protocols in coordination with radiation physics and division directors. (10%)
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year related experience or training.
  • ARRT (R) Radiography certification.
  • 3 years’ experience as a Registered Technologist.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous leadership experience.
