Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and magnetic safety.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Certification Addendum and annual hospital certifications (DNV, CARF, etc.).
• Specific MRI certifications or RT registration may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment for basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain medical history, verify requisitions, and prepare/ administer contrast under Radiologist direction.
• Position patient and adjust scanning factors to obtain quality images; ensure magnet safety.
• Post-process images and label with patient information and scan location.
• Enter patient and study data into radiology information system and document billing codes.
• Identify equipment issues and perform QA tests; report malfunctions.
• Assist with patient positioning and transport, including lifting as needed.
• Provide age-appropriate care according to department policies and life-span considerations.
