Job summary

Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center in Greenville, NC, is seeking an MRI Technologist Assistant to support daily MRI operations in an outpatient orthopedic setting. You will assist with patient preparation, scheduling coordination, documentation, and administrative tasks in ModMed.

Responsibilities include coordinating in-house MRI scheduling, patient screening, and entry of MRI charges, while upholding HIPAA and ACR standards.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills essential.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Accuracy and timeliness in scheduling, documentation, and charge entry.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in patient screening and safety preparation.
• Professional, patient-centered communication at all times.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team with technologists and clinical staff.
• Ability to maintain smooth patient flow in a busy outpatient setting while supporting ACR standards.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MRI scheduling, including in-house exams and follow-up appointments.
• Manage incoming calls and patient inquiries for the MRI department.
• Verify patient information and ensure required documentation is complete prior to imaging.
• Create patient visits in ModMed, upload Radsource MRI reports promptly, and enter MRI charges accurately.
• Prepare patients for MRI exams by completing screening forms and ensuring removal of personal items.
• Provide basic patient care by explaining the MRI process and supporting patient comfort and understanding.
• Assist MRI technologists with patient positioning and preparation, including providing ear plugs and comfort items.
• Assist technologists during contrast injections as directed.
• Maintain MRI suite readiness by stocking supplies, organizing exam rooms, and supporting general department needs.
• Communicate effectively with technologists, providers, and clinical staff to support patient flow and workflow efficiency.
• Complete Imaging department tasks within ModMed.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
• Support adherence to ACR accreditation standards through proper patient screening, preparation, documentation, and workflow accuracy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support MRI and clinic operations.
